Thomasville, The City of Roses, is located just north of the Florida line, minutes from Tallahassee. Less than an hour's drive from both I-75 and I-10, yet far enough away to have maintained itself as a quiet place of great natural beauty and rich history.
Victorian Style homes and their beautiful architecture, National historic landmarks, old historic churches, and grand "winter cottages" are just some of the architectural charm of Thomasville.
Thomasville offers a wide variety of quaint shops and cafes' along the brick paved historic downtown. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the collection of antique shops, gift & specialty shops, as well as, boutique's, art galleries, craft stores, and more.

Location: Thomasville is located 45 miles west of I-75 at Valdosta, Ga., and 35 miles northeast of Tallahassee, Fla., on U.S. Hwy. 319, in the heart of the land known as the “Red Hills Region.” The land, with extremely fertile soil, is home to tall stands of long-leaf pines, graceful live oaks and a profusion of dogwood, azalea and wisteria. We are accessible by commercial air through the Tallahassee Regional Airport (one hour’s drive). Thomasville does have a municipal airport 10 minutes from town that can accommodate four-engine jets with charter flight available.
Population: Thomasville has approximately 20,000 residents with Thomas County having around 42,000.
Climate: The four seasons we experience are a mild spring, subtropical summer, warm but pleasant fall and a cool-to-chilly winter. The annual average temperature high is 78 degrees and a low of 55.

Thomasville Antiques Show & Sale The Thomasville Antiques Show Committee presents a multitude of the country’s most prestigious dealers who offer the opportunity to view and purchase exquisite antiques. The dealers showcase antique furniture, paintings, rugs, jewelry, tableware, accessories and collectibles to suit the taste of the casual and serious collector. This event is held annually to provide funding for quality programs that enrich and assist children in Thomasville and Thomas County.

Pebble Hill Plantation hosts a wonderful day of activities for amateur and advanced birders alike.
Thomasville Rose Show, Parade & Festival
The City of Thomasville plants and maintains more than 7,000 roses located throughout the city, as do a number of residents who have their own rose gardens. Rose growers from all over the world display their prize roses for a panel of prestigious southern judges. Have a “blooming” good time celebrating over 83 years of roses at Thomasville’s Grand Dame of festivals. Activities throughout the “City of Roses” include special rose displays, parades, historical home and museum tours, street dances, arts and crafts show, nursery vender displays, lectures, garden tours, walk/run races, food and fun galore! Each year, the Thomasville Rose Show is sponsored by the Thomasville Rose Society and Thomasville Garden Clubs.

Fall Sampler at Pebble Hill Plantation
The Fall Sampler is held on the first Sunday of October at the beautiful Pebble Hill Plantation and offers families a fun-filled afternoon of activities for all ages. Some of the offerings include wagon rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, demonstrations of horse jumping, dog retrieving, horseshoeing, fall flower arranging, and much more!
Thomasville Fly-In
It is the tradition of the Thomasville aviation community to host an annual fly-in on the second weekend of October each year. The event has grown to be a major aviation event and attraction for our area.

Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival Thomasville Cultural Center presents a juried, wildlife arts show featuring the finest in original paintings, sculpture and photography. Visitors can enjoy lectures, demonstrations, children’s activities and related wildlife exhibits.

Thomasville Christmas Parade Presented by the Thomasville YMCA in downtown Thomasville on the first Monday after Thanksgiving each year, the Christmas Parade is the perfect way to usher in the holiday season!
Victorian Christmas
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” in Thomasville during this unique festival that takes place in the setting of authentic Victorian architecture and the brick streets of downtown. Step back in time to the 1890’s and experience delights such as horse-drawn carriage rides, shop keepers and locals dressed in period costumes, street theater presentation and story tellers, street corner carolers, church choirs, street dancers, bands and concerts, a Victorian Museum, pet adoptions, over 100 stores and restaurants decorated for the holidays, food and holiday delicacies and, of course, Saint Nicholas! A dramatic live Nativity is held during the evening of the event while performances by Thomasville Onstage entertain everyone. Mimes, jugglers and an organ grinder also add to the merriment. The merchants of Thomasville open their doors to visitors during this festive event.
Pebble Hill Plantation’s Christmas Candlelight Tour The Christmas Candlelight Tours occur annually on the Friday and Saturday of the second weekend of December. Guests are treated to a tour of the downstairs of the Main House (which is decked out in its holiday finery), a champagne reception, and carriage rides. Seasonal live music and a special script recalling Christmases past at Pebble Hill add to this event and help make it a “must do” each December.
